April Snowstorm

Did I say that I love the extreme weather possibilities afforded by the Rocky Mountain foothills??? When Boofy and I walked this morning we had to stick to plowed roads because there was about 30 inches of beautiful wet spring snow everywhere else. Snow was coming con gusto right into my face, covering my Maui Jims with drops. We walked over Tanoa Road to Lewis Ridge then returned to the house and toweled down the dog. How many times have we done that over the past couple of days?
To Boofy’s chagrin I then left the house without him to drive down to the lake to take a look at what was happening. When I arrived I found it wet, sloppy and beautiful. I took some pics which I have included here for you to enjoy.

Very cool and the water is much needed!

It is beautiful to look at, but boy am I glad I am not experiencing it! Today, when I walked through a patch of blowing pear blossom petals, I thought about how much I prefer this type of “snow”.
